2026 Wyoming Primary Election Questionnaire
Our top priorities are protecting Wyoming's public lands, defending our wildlife from commoditization, and keeping wildlife management free from politics. We help Wyoming's sportsmen and women know who stands up for our sporting heritage...and who doesn't.
Note: We are not coordinating with candidates, campaign committees, or political parties. All responses are published here to help inform voters of their candidate's positions on these issues.
Candidate Questions
Public Lands
Public lands are a way of life for us. Recreation, hunting, fishing, agriculture, industry, and many other uses depend on federal public land. The people of Wyoming, and the 2026 Wyoming Legislature, have broadly opposed broad and indiscriminate disposal, sale, or transfer to the state of federal public lands.
We do, however, support common-sense management where local input is heard and respected, and land transfers that increase access.
What is your position on the broad sale of, or transfer to the state, of federal public lands?
Public Wildlife
Wyoming wildlife is held in trust by the state of Wyoming for the people of Wyoming. Efforts over many years have attempted to privatize wildlife, and allow 'transferable landowner tags' to be sold for the personal profit of a certain landowner.
We fully oppose transferable landowner tags and any attempt to privatize Wyoming's wildlife.
We do, however, support Wyoming's ranchers who provide valuable habitat that support our wildlife.
Do you support or oppose efforts to privatize wildlife, in the form of transferable landowner tags or otherwise, and what other ideas do you have to support productive ranch land that also supports our wildlife populations?
scientific management
Over the past several legislative sessions we have seen bills that would put wildlife management decisions in the hands of legislators, instead of leaving these management decisions in the hands of professional wildlife biologists and the Game and Fish Commission. Also, the Wyoming Legislature is currently discussing projected revenue shortfalls for Wyoming's Game and Fish Department.
Will you oppose any efforts to politicize the management of our wildlife, and uphold the North American model for wildlife conservation?
If elected, what ideas do you have for ensuring our Game and Fish is fully resourced to do the important work they do for the sporting and ranching communities?
